Historic machinery meets modern innovation at kp’s Gordonsville site

The Picture shows a memorial plaque about the Calender and his history from Germany to the USA
Discover the hidden history of the packaging industry preserved at our factory in Gordonsville, USA - a historic calender machine from 1934. This piece of machinery was the first to produce rigid PVC films, marking a key innovation in the manufacturing world.
Originally from Friedrichroda, Thuringia, this machine was discovered after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and far from being a relic, was still operating as a robust piece of machinery in 1991.

It was relocated to Gordonsville and recently, our mechanics lovingly restored it, celebrating kp’s rich heritage and the history of manufacturing. It now stands at our site as a proud testament to engineering achievements of the past and as a symbol of our industry’s ongoing innovation and resilience.
