A Rewarding Career at kp

When I first started working at kp, I joined as an apprentice in the Customer Service Team. That was back in 2016 when I was fresh out of college with no real idea about what I wanted to do in the future.
A few years after completing my apprenticeship, kp offered our team the opportunity to participate in sales training. To my surprise, I found the course really interesting and discovered I enjoyed doing something a bit different.
As the training came to an end, I was informed there were two roles available within the Internal Sales Team and decided to put my name forward. I was nervous about the interview, but I was delighted to get the role. Fast forward a year and I was promoted to Key Account Manager, a role I’ve been doing ever since. And who knows where the future will take me!

Championing International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a time to appreciate our progress towards gender equality and think about how much more we can do for complete equality and inclusion.

I’ve found that the best way to gain respect is through hard work and proving my capabilities. I strive to do what I say I will do and consistently demonstrate my worth.

I should flag that as a young woman working in typically male-dominated industries like manufacturing and meat production, I have faced challenges. However, I’ve found that the best way to gain respect is through hard work and proving my capabilities. I strive to do what I say I will do and consistently demonstrate my worth.

Given this year’s theme is #InspireInclusion, it feels apt to acknowledge the support I received from Sally Molyneux, Sales Director UK, UA, and Benelux here at kp. Sally was one of the first people to take a chance on me, but even more importantly she openly offers advice and guidance to our team to help us all grow and reach our full potential. It is powerful to be around someone who is big on empowering others, and advocates for women to be in higher leadership positions.

Empowering Future Generations

If I could turn back time, I’d tell myself to take every opportunity that comes my way as you never know where it will take you. Even if a risk you take does not work out, it does not necessarily mean that you have failed. It simply means that it was not the right path for you.

We also all need to learn the power of confidence – not just how to be confident as that must come from yourself – but the power it holds. You may just be amazed at the power your body holds in boosting or reducing your confidence (it is higher than you would expect!).

I know all too well it can be difficult to step out of our comfort zones, but if we don’t, we unintentionally create barriers for our future selves. If I had continued to let my fears or lack of confidence hold me back, I certainly would not be where I am today.
