We are thrilled to announce a significant achievement at Klöckner Pentaplast (kp), where we have recently received ISCC Plus certification for three of our manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe. This certification is a major leap forward in our commitment to producing recycled content films, particularly in the realm of medical device packaging.

We are proud recipients of the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus, which grants us the authority to utilize any chemically recycled raw material using mass balance. This certification underscores our dedication to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

A key advantage of the ISCC Plus certification is that it empowers us to use chemically recycled polymers, including Eastman's Eastar™ Renew resin, known for its advanced molecular recycling capabilities. The successful certification extends to our manufacturing sites in Montabaur, Germany, and Gordonsville and Rural Retreat, Virginia, USA.

The ISCC Plus certification holds particular significance for the production of our Pentamed^® Medical Device films by incorporating chemically recycled polymers like Renew, we are actively reducing our dependence on virgin raw materials and contributing to waste diversion from landfills or incineration.

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond regulatory compliance. The importance of this certification in responding to the increasing demand for sustainable options from our medical device film customer base. We aim to incorporate more recycled content into our recipes, design products for recyclability, and collaborate with key supplier partners to drive circularity.
