Over the past year, we’ve shared our learnings and vision for the future with over 2,700 people. We will continue participating in a variety of platforms and events, reaching as many people as possible, to collectively create a better future for plastic and our planet. These are just a few of the events we took part in over the last year.
2019
SEPTEMBER
West Yorkshire, UK: We started year two of our Pledge by inviting senior representatives from the UK plastics industry to an open day at our Featherstone site. It was a
celebration of several milestones:
- 50 years at Featherstone
- 10-year anniversary of our 100% rPET trays in the UK
- Positive Plastics Pledge year one
- kp Infinity™ launch
OCTOBER
London, UK: Our Global Sustainability Director, Lubna Edwards, joined an expert panel at the Sustainable Packaging Coalition® to discuss ‘Pioneering Responsible Sourcing and Optimisation in Packaging Materials’, and led a workshop on ‘Recyclability
and Recycled Content’.
Warsaw, Poland: Aida Cierco, our Sustainability Manager, together with Marcin Rutkowski, Commercial Director CEE, talked at the Sustainability Confex, and also received the Innovative Packaging Award on kp’s behalf.
NOVEMBER
Brussels, Belgium: Our Food Packaging Innovation Director, Ana Fernandez, joined the Plastics Recyclers Annual Meeting to discuss ‘Designing for Recycling’.
Adelaide, Australia: Technical Sales & Sustainability Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Adam Waldron, spoke about ‘Powering the Change to a Circular Economy’, exploring the realities of developing a circular economy for plastics at scale and how our Pledge is helping us achieve that.
DECEMBER
Barcelona, Spain: Aida also spoke on ‘Where is your food container going?’ at the Food & Packaging Day organised by the Packaging Cluster and FoodService Cluster.
